Darren Ambrose has backed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat over Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
Amrabat’s reputation has reached new heights as a result of his stellar World Cup performance while representing Morocco; he was recently referred to as a “talented boy.”
In January, there was talk of a potential transfer, but nothing came of it. Now, however, there is a lot of interest in the 27-year-old player, who is currently training on his own.
Ambrose’s comments about the player are probably a hint that he will leave Florence soon.
On who Amrabat should sign for: “You will have to look at who you feel is more likely to be in a title race this season,” said Ambrose.
“I would have to say Liverpool are going to be more likely pushing. Only the way Manchester United and Liverpool have started. Liverpool are building, with Manchester United, we don’t quite know.”
Big week ahead for Liverpool and Man United
The next five to seven days before the summer transfer window closes could be crucial for both clubs’ season-long success.
They appear to need those extra legs in the middle of the field and probably elsewhere on the field if they want to give themselves any real reason to believe they can accomplish their goals of securing Champions League football while also contending for the championship.
Otherwise, the gloom, doom, and frustration of the fans will only persist past September, which won’t be good for the outcomes.
