THE £21M STAR ADMITS HE HAD SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT LIVERPOOL’S ‘INSANELY COOL’ MOVE

when signing Jesper Lindstrom confesses he considered joining Liverpool this summer but was concerned about his ‘playing time’ at the Premier League club.

With Jurgen Klopp and co. focusing on another Bundesliga playmaker – Dominik Szoboszlai finally joining from RB Leipzig after Jesper Lindstrom left for Napoli – it’s safe to say the disappointment of missing out on the Denmark international has been forgotten.

Szoboszlai, who was again brilliant in Sunday’s 3-0 thrashing of Aston Villa, is already shaping up to be one of the summer’s most important signings. We can only speculate on whether Lindstrom would have had a similar impact at Liverpool, despite the former Brondby whizzkid getting cold feet about joining his boyhood club before signing with the Serie A champions in August.

“Then there was Liverpool.”But will I receive any playing time?”Would it be wise to go to Liverpool?” Lindstrom wonders to Tipsbladet.”Everyone knows I’m a Liverpool fan.As a result, it would be an immensely cool experience.

“But if I’m not playing, I’d rather sit and watch them on TV for another club.”I’ve reached an age where

Liverpool was interested in signing new Napoli sensation Jesper Lindstrom.

Lindstrom clearly believes he will do just that at Liverpool. The versatile attacker arrives from Eintracht Frankfurt in a £21 million deal, with Napoli resorting to Lindstrom after a deal for former Celta Vigo talisman Gabri Veiga fell through.

“That is why I believe Napoli is a good signing.” It is a world-class club. And they have stated that I will play and that I will have numerous opportunities,” Lindstrom says.

“Of course, I was surprised that (the move) could be accomplished.” Because they (Napoli) had stated that it might not be doable at this time. However, I believe it is acceptable. I’ve been hoping for something to happen.”

Lindstrom scored nine goals and assisted on four others in 2023
