According to reports, Barcelona is exploring a startling January transfer for Wilfried Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City who had previously been connected with Liverpool.
This summer, a number of teams, including the Reds, thought about making a move for the Nigerian international. However, Jurgen Klopp decided to concentrate on other possibilities.
When Ndidi ultimately decided to remain with Leicester, it greatly aided Enzo Maresca’s chances of being promoted from the Championship this year.
For £17 million, the 26-year-old agreed to join the Foxes in 2017. So far this season, he has made eight league appearances and one goal.
He is a flexible player who can operate as a center-back, defensive midfielder, or central midfielder. That being said, it is understandable why Maresca would have wanted to keep him.
Barcelona is apparently interested in signing Ndidi, so Leicester will have to wage another battle to keep him.
Barcelona is ‘eyeing up a surprise deal for Ndidi,’ claims Caught Offside.
The Catalan’s persistent financial struggles prevent him from having much money to spend, but Xavi Hernandez is eager to bolster his midfield.
