So Humilating: His jubilation came in response to repeated cries from the opposing bench

When Jamie Vardy scored for Leicester in front of the visiting Bristol City supporters on Saturday, he ran the whole length of the field to celebrate, evoking thoughts of Emmanuel Adebayor’s legendary celebration.

After scoring the game-winning penalty for Enzo Maresca’s team in the 67th minute, the former England international ran toward the opposing supporters.

His jubilation came in response to repeated cries from the opposing bench that read, “Jamie Vardy, your wife is a grass,” after his partner Rebekah became embroiled in a contentious court battle with Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen in a case called “Wagatha Christie.”

After being suspected of leaking information to The Sun tabloid through Coleen’s personal Instagram account, Rebekah lost a libel action against Coleen last year.

Following the successful conversion of his penalty kick, Vardy escaped the grasps of his jubilant teammates and sprinted straight up the other end while cupping a palm to his ear, much to the chagrin of the 3,300 traveling supporters.

previous to Emmanuel Adebayor’s celebration against Arsenal in 2009, Vardy’s celebration mimicked previous celebrations.

After staring down spectators, the 36-year-old pointed to his name on the shirt’s back and then lowered his gaze.

He then slapped his chest, extended his arms wide, and trudged back toward the midway point.

Vardy’s celebration resembles Emmanuel Adebayor’s 2009 sprint across the field after scoring for Man City against his former team Arsenal, which was a straightforward method for him to vent his feelings.

When Adebayor fell on his knees to meet the traveling Gunners crowd, he created havoc in the stands. As a result, he received a $25,000 fine and a two-match suspension with a one-match suspension.

The striker was also subjected to shouts against his wife by Chelsea fans last year, so this is not the first time Vardy has faced taunts from opposing fans.

There was no Adebayor-esque celebration that time because he didn’t score in that game.

Vardy, though, proved his point on Saturday when he assisted the Foxes in their seventh victory in their last eight games, which propelled them to the top of the Championship over Ipswich on goal differential.
