As a new day dawns, a new decision is made with Leeds United’s Willy Gnonto.

Following the resignation of Roberto Mancini, Luciano Spalletti has taken over as manager of the Azzurri, and a new era begins with Saturday’s match against North Macedonia in a European Championships qualifier. Despite his club’s relegation from the Premier League, Gnonto was named to Spalletti’s first squad, and the 19-year-old Whites forward has been named to the bench for this evening’s encounter.

Gnonto has now earned 12 caps for Italy’s senior team, for which he has also scored once. Tonight’s Group C qualification will be shown live on Viaplay Sports 2 from 7.45 p.m.
