Leeds United to sign potential left-back before the sales slam shut

According to the newspaper’s website (31 August), while nothing can be ruled out, recruiting a new left-back is not presently a priority at Elland Road in the final hours of the transfer season.
The feeling is that only a “extraordinary too-good-to-miss opportunity” would see Daniel Farke and his colleagues cover the problem region on the final day of the window.

As a result, it appears that supporters must get used to a combination of Junior Firpo, Sam Byram and Jamie Shackleton as their options in that position.

Enough

While some supporters might be frustrated that there haven’t been any upgrades at left-back this summer, with the options currently at the club, they should have enough to get through the season without the need for any last-minute reinforcements in that area. When back fit, Firpo is a player who has more than enough quality to thrive in the Championship.

Of course, some fans will still not think they have enough but what will satisfy them is that the club are still pushing to address their issues in other areas, and they are not resting on their laurels as the window comes to a close.

It is set to be a busy end to the summer in West Yorkshire and once all is said and done, everyone associated with the club will only be able to sit back and hope that Daniel Farke and the players on the pitch do enough to get them over the line.
