Leeds United injury news as Sam Byram update emerges – Phil Hay

Phil Hay has relayed the news that Leeds United defender Sam Byram has picked up an adductor strain in the 4-3 win at Ipswich Town.

After the Whites’ first Championship victory under Daniel Farke at Portman Road on Saturday, August 26, he announced the news.

With the exception of the season-opening match against Cardiff, Byram has started every game; however, it currently appears that he will miss some time due to injury.

“Byram has an adductor strain,” he wrote.

Will need to be evaluated in terms of the anticipated length of absence.

After this most recent setback, Farke will be considering his roster and whether he needs to recruit another full-back more urgently than he had previously thought.

Since being signed on a free transfer, Byram has excelled, although he has a history of injuries that have unhappily recurred.

Joel Piroe was quickly signed by Leeds as it became obvious they needed a new striker, and the same can now be said for the left-back position in the back four.

With a short turnaround until Salford in the EFL Cup, this will be one to watch in the coming days, but we might not see another signing come through the door to cover this.

Cody Drameh was brought on and then taken off in a brave call from Farke, with Jamie Shackleton also filling that role too at Portman Road.

This is a slight blow, but today will be remembered for three points and that sensational front four.
