Cooper, 31, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Leeds. While a number of players around him have left the club – the 16-time Scotland star was always going to remain. But, ex-Leeds ace Fowler is looking to change that.

According to talkSPORT, Fowler’s Al-Qadsiah – who have signed Robles on a free after his Leeds exit – have tabled a huge offer in order to convince Cooper with a move to Elland Road. But it looks as if Cooper will remain in Yorkshire.

But Leeds need Cooper now, more than ever. Underrated by many, news of his comments in the dressing room after relegation and a 4-1 loss to Tottenham has united a fan base. Large sections of the Leeds fans love our left footer.

Cooper has surprise Saudi Arabia offer, Leeds need him more than ever

He might not be the best centre-back Leeds have ever had. Max Wober would have probably started over him in the middle of the defence. But if Leeds are to gain an instant return to the Premier League – keeping Cooper is crucial.

With Wober gone, Cooper is now first choice on the left side of central defence. Pascal Struijk is cover, but could rival Charlie Cresswell to partner Cooper. Championship campaigns require experience, and a strong dressing room.

Cooper is central to that at Leeds. Underrated at times on the pitch, and absolutely pivotal for this Leeds side off of it. Managers will come and go but Leeds need Cooper. His tenth year, we need him to ignore the offer from Fowler.
