BREAKING NEWS: Phil Hay responds to the turmoil surrounding Leeds United before the San Francisco 49ers take over

According to Phil Hay, Andrea Radrizzani went too far by using Elland Road as security for a loan to purchase a new team following Leeds United.

On Tuesday, September 12, a journalist for The Athletic disclosed that the San Francisco 49ers’ decision to proceed with the takeover was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

This eliminated any possibility of Radrizzani keeping the initial investment, despite his initial consideration.

The concept of using Elland Road as collateral for a bank loan, according to Hay, “was a line in the sand for 49ers Enterprises. The dispute surrounding the stadium was a step too far if the fund had any remaining hope that its buyout of Leeds would proceed with Radrizzani maintaining any sort of control or shareholding. Eleven days later, a buyout was agreed to. The whole scheme would collapse when Orta severed relations, and Radrizzani would go.

Shocking

In retrospect, Radrizzani’s attempt at such a prank was a positive thing because it revealed his true character.

The Italian would never do such a thing for someone who claims to love the club, but it was obvious that he intended to bring Leeds down with him.

The 49ers recognized this and made the decision to entirely remove him since, even if he had a little share, he would still have some sway.
His most recent Twitter outburst at Angus Kinnear, who was supposed to be his person, indicates that there was no actual cooperation at Elland Road.

With the 49ers, Kinnear should act like a more responsible CEO and do a good job of moving the team forward.

This summer has gone well in terms of the incomings and it remains to be seen how it impacts the team on the field of play.
