Leeds United have identified a need for reinforcements at centre-back, striker and in midfield as the start of the 2023-24 campaign approaches, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites are turning their attention to incomings having lost eight stars since their relegation from the Premier League last term.
Ethan Ampadu has already arrived on a permanent deal from Chelsea, providing an experienced and versatile option for manager Daniel Farke.
Meanwhile, Leeds are likely to announce the permanent acquisition of goalkeeper Karl Darlow after he passes a medical.
With the addition of Darlow, the Whites are willing to split ways with Illan Meslier in order to bankroll more acquisitions in the last month of the summer window.
According to Football Insider, Leeds will consider bids ranging from £20 to £25 million for the Frenchman.
Following the exodus of stars in the aftermath of relegation, centre-back has been regarded as a vital area for improvement.
Robin Koch and Diego Llorente have both been loaned away for the 2023-24 season, and Max Wober is also on the verge of a loan move to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Farke’s team is also looking for reinforcements in central midfield, with Tyler Adams’ future uncertain.
Adams is keen to leave Leeds United this summer to play at a higher level, Football Insider reported earlier this week (25 July).
Last month, the Whites released Adam Forshaw at the end of his contract.
A striker is also on the move, with Rodrigo Moreno, last season’s best scorer, joining Qatari club Al-Rayyan early in the window.
According to Football Insider, all three relegated sides are vying for the acquisition of Swansea City striker Joel Piroe.
