While on international duty on Thursday night, Cole Palmer made a joke about Charlie Cresswell, a defender for Leeds United, missing a clear opportunity.
Under Daniel Farke, the 21-year-old has found himself as Leeds’ fourth-choice center-back, behind Liam Cooper, Joe Rodon, and Pascal Struijk in the pecking order. Palmer was avoiding a clear header that England’s Cresswell had missed in the first five minutes of play, with the score still at zero.
Palmer’s retort came after the £45 million acquisition from Manchester City sent a brilliant corner onto the head of the Leeds player, who for some reason missed the mark.
You would have bet your house on Cresswell scoring following his goal total from his loan at Millwall last season, had you watched the header replay.
