The Chiefs will have a chance to accomplish a feat that no other club in the league has ever accomplished heading into the 2024 season: win three straight Super Bowls. This would greatly enhance this franchise’s legacy.
Now that Mahomes and the Chiefs are back on top, the question for the future is whether another quarterback and club can challenge Kansas City as a rival.
The Houston Texans have been in the news a lot lately due to their offseason decisions and the presence of C.J. Stroud, but as he stated on “First Things First,” Nick Wright of FOX Sports is not convinced.
“There aren’t any opponents,” Wright declared.
Mahomes is without a doubt the finest quarterback in the NFL at the moment since he overcame criticism during the 2023 season and kept his eyes on the prize—winning his third Super Bowl championship.
As Wright notes, when it comes to quarterbacks in the modern game, nobody is statistically or historically comparable to him at this time.
Although it will be interesting to watch if Lamar Jackson, C.J. Stroud, Josh Allen, and/or Joe Burrow can catch up, Mahomes is now the best quarterback in the NFL and is in a class by himself.
