SIpswich Town have enjoyed a fantastic start to their Championship season.Ipswich’s success this season may pique the curiosity of rival teams in their key players, potentially leading to transfers during the January window. The Tractor Boys must decide whether to sell goalkeeper Christian Walton, defender Leif Davis, and attacker Freddie Ladapo, as well as whether to loan out midfielder Cameron Humphreys.

Because of Ipswich’s success this season, their top players may attract interest from others in the January transfer window, while those who have found their game time limited may look to move on.

With that in mind, we examined four major transfer decisions that the Tractor Boys must make.

1Would Ipswich be willing to sell Christian Walton?

Walton was a standout goalkeeper for Ipswich Town last season, keeping 24 clean sheets in 47 appearances across all competitions to help his team earn promotion from League One.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to newly-promoted Premier League side Luton Town this summer, but while he remained at Portman Road, other clubs could be interested in January.

With the Tractor Boys sitting at the top of the table, Walton may be hesitant to go, but the club would be forced to make a difficult decision if Luton or any other club met their asking price.

Walton was injured at the start of the season and Vaclav Hladky has succeeded in his absence, so McKenna has a more than capable substitute already at the club

2Would Ipswich Town be willing to sell Leif Davis?

Davis, who joined Ipswich from Leeds United last summer, has established himself as one of the club’s important players.

Davis scored three goals and had 14 assists as a left-winger last season, and he has continued to be a threat in the Championship, with plenty of assists already.

Attacking full-backs have previously moved to the Premier League for large fees, with Djed Spence joining Tottenham Hotspur from Middlesbrough in a deal for up to £20 million last summer, so the Tractor Boys might command a high fee for Davis.

Davis’ departure would be a significant setback for Ipswich, and even if there is interest in his services in January, it appears probable that the club will want to keep him.Davis’ departure would be a significant setback for Ipswich, and even if there is interest in his services in January, it appears probable that the club would try to keep him as they aim to secure back-to-back promotions.
