After spending four seasons in League One, Kieran McKenna’s hosts have had a successful start to the season in the second division.

The Tractor Boys are looking for their third straight victory going into today’s match at Portman Road. They are now third in the standings.

In the meanwhile, Rovers will be eager to rebound from their midweek loss to Sunderland, but Leonard, who scored in the 3-1 loss to the Wearsiders, knows it won’t be simple for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team in Suffolk.

The adolescent told RoversTV before of this afternoon’s game, “They’ve had a really good run, they play fantastic football, and they are a terrific squad.

We’re going there with a game plan and we hope to come away with the three points.

We’ll look to control what’s in our hands. If we have a good performance and be a bit more clinical, there’s no reason why we can’t win it.

However, we’ll respect them. They’ve just come up, they’ve had a really good start to the season and I’m sure it’ll be a good game.”

Leonard’s header against the Black Cats was his second goal of the term and the 19-year-old is loving being part of Tomasson’s team.

There’s been frustration at Rovers’ lack of killer instinct in front of goal, but Leonard believes everything will come together sooner rather than later.

It’s brilliant under the gaffer,” the forward added. “The way we’ve played has come on leaps and bounds, we create a lot of chances and could have score four or five against Sunderland the other night.

We’d be a lot more worried if we weren’t getting in those positions and getting those chances.

I think it’s only a matter of time until we take those chances and we get back to winning games.
