Francesco Acerbi Applauds the Signing of a New Italy Midfielder

Davide Frattesi joins Inter | Inter.it

Inter Milan veteran Francesco Acerbi heaps praise on his new Nerazzurri teammate Davide Frattesi.

The 23-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Sassuolo earlier this month on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

He was a stalwart at the Mapei Stadium in the last couple of seasons, cementing himself as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in Serie A.

For his part, Acerbi joined Inter last summer from Lazio, also on an initial loan transfer. Following a solid first campaign, the club decided to exercise the option to buy the defender.

The 35-year-old was already a veteran when a teenage Frattesi first joined Sassuolo in 2017. But he still recalls the player from their brief time together at the Emilian club.

“I still remember him from Sassuolo, he’s a very good player,” said Acerbi in an interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews. “He’s both a hardworking and humble person.”

The former Lazio centre-back also spoke about the start of the club’s pre-season. The veteran appeared in the second half of Inter’s 10-o friendly win over Pergolettese on Friday.

“It’s always nice and fun to start over and see your teammates again.” Last season, we performed exceptionally well in the final two months of all contests.

“The group bonded in the crucial matches, and we have to start there.” We must constantly be willing to assist one another. The group is always the most essential thing.

“My personal goal is to improve and give my all this season, knowing how well last season went.” But now I must restart with new impulses and motives.
