The Packers have ridden some waves this season, as younger teams are prone to do. QB Jordan Love’s 27 TD/11 INT campaign has featured stretches of play where you’d think the Packers were destined to go far this season. Green Bay won four of five between Weeks 9-13, including wins over the Rams, Lions and Chiefs.
Unfortunately for Green Bay, its regular season didn’t end in Week 13. Since then, the Packers defense has been shredded by the Tommy DeVito-led New York Giants and Baker Mayfield’s Buccaneers.
They barely escaped with their hats last week vs. the Carolina Panthers (2-13), eking out a 33-30 win in a game that resulted in the team suspending CB Jaire Alexander for foolishly taking the field for the pregame coin toss and almost costing the Packers the ball.
While young teams like Green Bay appear wildly inconsistent in some lenses, the Packers are riding a five-game winning streak vs. the OVER. This streak has been bolstered by the part of the cheese block that is full of air — their defense has surrendered 25.8 PPG during this stretch.

Vikings betting news: Minnesota offense in flux
The Vikings are 7-5-3 ATS this season, and tallying two pushes in their last three games surely doesn’t make identifying interesting betting trends any easier.
QB Kirk Cousins was lost for the season when the Packers and Vikings last met in Week 8. Looking back, it’s hard to believe that the Vikings were just 1-7 vs. the OVER in the eight games Cousins helmed.
The replacement dup of Joshua Dobbs and now Nick Mullens has gone 3-2-2 ATS, and Minnesota has scored 24 points in both games Mullens started.
The encouraging offensive production as of late must be taken with some grains of salt, like last week’s season-ending injuries to TE T.J. Hockenson and promising rookie WR Jordan Addison (and two defensive starters).
Minnesota’s offense has been in flux all season due to a litany of injuries and IR stints for core offensive members such as WR Justin Jefferson and RB Alexander Mattison. This flux has reached such a force that TY Hilton is being mentioned as a late-season WR addition, which shows how thin this unit has been spread in 2023.
The Vikings have lost four of their last five games, and their only win during this stretch was the 3-0 yawner vs. the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. With their season on the line vs. the Packers in Week 17, it should be noted that Mullens split reps with rookie QB Jaren Hall during Wednesday’s practice. Mullens was spelled in Week 16 by Joshua Dobbs after suffering a concussion, so keeping our eyes on which of these three Vikings quarterbacks will be under center come Sunday Night Football is perhaps the biggest thing to plan for Vikings betting.

Justin Jefferson OVER receptions: Regardless of which Vikings QB gets the nod on Sunday Night Football in Week 17, he’s not going to have reliable T.J. Hockenson on the field to help. He will not have speedster WR Jordan Addison either, and for these reasons, it makes sense to envision whoever is under center targeting Justin Jefferson early, often, and even when he’s not open.
Vikings QB UNDER passing yards: Minnesota coach Kevin O’Connell isn’t playing three-card Monte because Jaren Hall, Joshua Dobbs, and Nick Mullens are all super-good, super-healthy, and hard to choose between. Mullens faces concussion-related uncertainty, and Dobbs’ Linsanity-like run might be over. Whoever gets the nod at QB is going to have a short leash, so betting the UNDER on passing yards could pay off. It can also pay off if the Vikings stay with the same QB the whole game but struggle to move the ball without Hockenson and Addison.

Jordan Love and the Packers won’t have an easy time of it, but they have a good shot of covering the spread in Minnesota on Sunday Night Football in Week 17.
