Packers release two offensive players
Two offensive players who were added to the active 53-man roster last week have been dismissed by the Green Bay Packers. James Robinson, the wide receiver, and Bo Melton, the running back, were cut, and they did not practise on Monday.
Last Thursday, Robinson and Melton took on the Detroit Lions. The Packers were having trouble finding enough players to fill the roster due to several injuries, so they were promoted from the practice squad.
Bo Melton participated in two offensive plays and six special teams plays, while Robinson was inactive.
Why they made it
The Packers now have two openings on their 53-man roster. They might be used to activate Eric Stokes, the cornerback, and safety Darnell Savage.
Stokes was designated on Monday, while Savage was scheduled to return from injured reserve last week. Although they haven’t been activated yet, both players could play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Robinson and Melton couldn’t practice because they needed to clear waivers before they could be signed back to the practice squad.
Absences from the gym
Bo Melton, James Robinson, and three more players were not at the practice on Monday. Aaron Jones, a running back, stretched before practice but remained indoors as the other players participated in team activities. Josiah Deguara, a tight end, and fellow running back AJ Dillon did not practise either.
Better information
After sitting out the game against the Lions the previous week, WR Dontayvion Wicks, CB Jordanian Alexander, S Rudy Ford, and LB De’Vondre Campbell returned to practice, suggesting that they will be available to play on Sunday. Despite being marked as doubtful to participate on Thanksgiving, all four were ultimately declared ineligible for the match.
