Packers-Vikings Thursday Injury Report: Two Top Receivers Remain Out

The Green Bay Packers are aware of their quarterback opponent for Sunday night’s game against the Vikings, but they are unsure of their receiver.

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: The Green Bay Packers could be without a few crucial passing-game players for their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, as their playoff hopes are on the line.

Promising rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks did not practice again due to a chest injury he sustained during last week’s touchdown play at the end of the first half, while standout rookie receiver Jayden Reed returned to practice for the second straight day after missing the team’s victory over Carolina due to a hamstring injury.

Coach Matt LaFleur stated that Wicks and Watson will likely need to practise on Friday in order for them to participate on Sunday.

Watson stated that he is “not off the table by any means” from playing on Sunday.

If they don’t, the four healthy receivers on the Packers’ 53-man roster—Reed, Malik Heath, Samori Toure, and Romeo Doubs—would play in what would effectively be an NFC elimination game. Presumably, Bo Melton would be promoted from the practice squad. Of his three games played, just two were as a starter.

Last week, during the second half of the game, the Packers were without Watson, Reed, and Wicks. However, Doubs scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter and assisted in setting up the winning field goal.

Quarterback Jordan Love stated, “Obviously, with guys falling down, not everybody being healthy this week, that’s when you need other guys to come up.”

Rome executed his playmaking, which is what he’s been doing all year, knowing that going into the game. Nevertheless, I believe that his current level of confidence and style of play also contribute to that, but having him out there and making those plays is really helpful.

Alexander’s Belated Suspension of His Painful Painting

Watson, Wicks (chest), Elgton Jenkins (shoulder), and linebacker De’Vondre Campbell (neck) did not practise on Wednesday. Only Jenkins joined his teammates at the beginning of the individual drills out of those four.

For the second day in a row, Reed and safety Darnell Savage (shoulder), who was out for the Carolina game, worked out.

Likewise, tight end Luke Musgrave didn’t begin training until Wednesday, despite being scheduled to return from injured reserve last week. He will probably need at least another week to recover from his lacerated kidney, which has kept him out of action for the past five games.

Coach Kevin O’Connell of the Minnesota Vikings announced that Jaren Hall would start at quarterback for the squad in Minneapolis. Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles tear during Minnesota’s October triumph at Lambeau Field, and Hall was the one to take his place.

Nick Mullens, who threw for 714 yards but six interceptions in back-to-back losses to the Bengals and Lions, gets replaced by Hall this time.

This season, Hall, a fifth-round rookie, has completed 8 of 10 passes for 101 yards. The week after Cousins was injured, he started against Atlanta but was later diagnosed with a concussion.

Jefferson stated this week, “I think he has been doing a tremendous job in learning and just the process of being a rookie and carrying that position.” “In my opinion, Jaren is an excellent quarterback. If we put him in the game, he might be able to ignite this offence, but we’ll be confident with whoever plays.”

Hall was selected 164th overall in the draft. He was chosen after quarterback Sean Clifford (No. 149) and wide receiver Wicks (No. 159) were selected by Green Bay.

Hall may have all the receivers he needs, unlike Love. All-Pro Justin Jefferson is healthy and coming off a strong performance against Detroit. Jefferson missed the previous meeting with the Packers due to an injury. Jordan Addison, his rookie sidekick, returned to practice on Thursday with limited involvement despite suffering an ankle injury against Detroit.
