Did Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirm Taylor Swift is headed to Green Bay?
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: This is the question that a lot of people have before the Green Bay Packers play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
No, it’s not whether Aaron Jones will be playing (he won’t be). The question is if Taylor Swift will be present at Lambeau Field on Sunday evening.
Swift, who started dating Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce earlier this year, has made appearances in suite boxes at many of his games this year when she hasn’t been on tour. She had a show in Brazil on Sunday, and her next show is not until February 7 in Tokyo, so she has two months off before returning to the United States for her Eras Tour. With that, it would seem like she has plenty of time to see The Man on the Chiefs.
While there has not been much in the way of solid information about the pop star’s plans for the weekend, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur may have let something slip while answering a question during his final press conference before Sunday’s game on Friday afternoon.
“How do you feel about the Taylor Swift of it all?” LaFleur was asked.
“Who?” he responded, tongue in cheek. “I don’t know… I’m not familiar.”
“I mean, it is what it is,” LaFleur added. “It comes with it (playing the Chiefs), I guess.”
Then LaFleur may have broken some news.
“Is she supposed to be here? That’s what I’ve heard, so, we’ll see. But I mean that’s just part of it, we’re definitely more focused on the game, but I’m sure there will be some fired-up people in the stands if she shows up.”
If that happens, plenty of eyes will be glued to Lambeau Field’s luxury suites, but Swift won’t be the first icon to step into the Frozen Tundra — Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been in Green Bay multiple times this year to cheer on her husband, Packers safety Jonathan Owens.
Please feel free to express your thoughts in the poll below on whether or not Taylor Swift should make a visit to Lambeau Field’s history.
