Even if the 2024 college football season’s first week isn’t expected to arrive anytime soon, supporters will still express their outrage.
On Tuesday, ESPN revealed the kickoff times for a few of its season-opening games, which infuriated fans. The choice to start the Georgia-Clemson game at noon ET was one of the more talked-about subjects.
It most likely has the best chance of giving fans a good show out of all the games played during the opening week of the season. The following games will air on ESPN: Boston College vs. Florida State, Miami vs. Florida, Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M, and North Dakota State vs. Colorado.
The Bulldogs and Tigers’ most recent season-opening match took place in 2021. With Georgia defeating Dabo Swinney 10-3, the game did not measure up to the expectations that were there at the time. On each side of the ball, both teams experienced their fair share of difficulties.
Georgia had a rough start to the season, but the Bulldogs went on to capture the national championship that year. Stetson Bennett’s rise to prominence at center was crucial in the team’s successive national championship victories.
When ESPN decided to hold this important Week 1 game at 12:00 ET, fans took to social media. Even though the game isn’t happening during prime time or at night, perhaps it will be more enjoyable this time around.
