Alex Iwobi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, has resumed training and should be eligible for Fulham when they take on Luton Town on Saturday, according to Soccernet.
Iwobi made a €25.7 million transfer from Everton to Fulham on the final day of the summer transfer window. While playing for Everton, the 27-year-old midfielder tore his hamstring, yet the Cottagers nevertheless acquired him.
Iwobi missed Fulham’s 5-1 loss to Manchester City due to an injury. A contest in which he might have made his club debut.
The former Arsenal player has been recovering, and the international break was helpful since it gave him plenty of time to settle in and get back to full health.
Iwobi is now a candidate for a spot in Fulham’s starting lineup when they play Luton Town after returning to training on Tuesday.
If the Nigerian wants to hold onto a regular spot at Fulham, he must perform at his peak level. In the midfield, coach Silva already has players like Tom Carney and Andreas Pereira. Iwobi would therefore have to put up a strong battle to make the starting lineup.
