Red Bull F1 test driver makes blunt 2024 prediction and reveals key RB20 fact
Red Bull test driver Jake Dennis has indicated that Max Verstappen need not worry about the challenge of Lewis Hamilton in 2024, or indeed any other competition, given to the fact the team has ‘an exceptionally fast race car’.
With drivers Sergio Perez and, primarily, Max Verstappen winning 21 of the 22 races, the Milton Keynes-based team dominated Formula 1.
The three-time world champion Verstappen set numerous records in route to winning the 2023 championship, and he plans to shatter even more in 2024.
The fact that the Dutchman’s team gave him what team principal Christian Horner called the “most successful car in F1 ever” contributed to his extraordinary achievement.
According to some, Red Bull’s RB19 is “the most successful car in F1 history.”At this point, Max Verstappen has won three world titles in a row.In 2023, Christian Horner was able to watch his drivers at every race bar on the first step of the podium.
Is Red Bull able to replicate its RB19 success?
Whether or if Red Bull has produced a machine capable of putting its competition behind them in 2024 remains to be seen, but Dennis is coming across as rather enthusiastic about the RB20.
“The Red Bull team has a really quick race car once again,” the 2022–23 Formula E champion stated to Mirror Sport.
“Unless someone like Ferrari or Mercedes manages to find around a second [per lap] overnight, I would expect us to become champions again.”
“I predict that Formula 1 will have a very boring season, with Max most likely winning.
Regarding the team’s 2023 achievement, he went on, “I’d be lying if I claimed we didn’t move our attention to the 2024 car very quickly.”
“We didn’t undertake any development on the 2023 car after Singapore.”
