Liverpool and Everton square off in today’s Women’s Super League match.

Today’s women’s Merseyside derby is the first of the season between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield.

In the Women’s Super League, Matt Beard’s Liverpool team is presently dominating the standings with Leicester City, while Everton is lagging behind.

Due to a greater goal differential between Bristol City and Aston Villa, Brian Sorensen’s team is only able to stay in third place despite suffering back-to-back losses.

Last season’s derby at Anfield saw a record attendance for women’s football at the stadium with 27,574 witnessing Everton’s 3-0 victory. Reds boss Beard will be hoping for the reverse result on Sunday while his opposite number Sorensen will be hoping for a repeat.

ECHO writers Laura Hartley and Beth Lindop are at Anfield for the latest match updates and all the post-game reaction.
