Shocking: Jack Harrison Fears and Thoughts of Going Back to the Avoided Place

After moving to Everton from Leeds United in the summer, Phil Hay has cautioned Jack Harrison that there is a potential he could experience back-to-back relegations.

The Athletic journalist included Harrison on a list of players who could be relegated this season after Leeds’ disappointing performance last time out, along with Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams, both of whom joined Bournemouth during the transfer window.

The Toffees are beginning to worry about yet another relegation battle after the defeat to Luton Town, which occurred at Goodison Park and was the match in which Harrison made his Premier League debut for Everton.

But over at Everton, Jack Harrison — on the mend from a hip injury — took until the last weekend of September to make his league debut, according to Hay, who wrote a review of Leeds’ transfer dealings for The Athletic on 4 October.

It happened on Saturday when Luton Town defeated us 2-1. It’s possible that Harrison, like Sinisterra and Adams, who joined Everton on loan, will have gone from one relegation to another.

Harrison will try to assist Everton in avoiding that.

Naturally, Harrison would experience some sense of humiliation if his team was demoted twice, as any player would. He’ll be trying to give Everton enough through his own performances to keep that from happening.

Sean Dyche’s team has not had a good start to the year. Goodison Park is under pressure after failing to score in losses to Fulham, Wolves, and Luton at home. Harrison is expected to make the difference before a challenging season.

The former Leeds player, whose injury recovery is only getting started, will be aiming for more regular game time as Dyche tinkers with his system to try to get the most performance out of his team.

James Garner, who has been asked to play out wide for a lot of the season, would then revert to his natural position in the center of the midfield if Harrison starts the game in his position on the right side of the field.
