It took VAR three minutes and 20 seconds to decide to award Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal in the Blues’ 2-1 loss to the Hatters, the presenter remarked on beIN SPORTS on Saturday, September 30.
Keys said he doesn’t accept the PGMOL’s justification that it wanted to keep the game moving because it took so long to make a judgement on the goal in the other game at Goodison Park, after Luis Diaz had a goal erroneously called out for offside and VAR didn’t intervene effectively in the Reds’ 2-1 loss to Spurs.
I disagree with the production team’s explanation, which is that “it keeps the game moving so we don’t want it to change,” stated Keys.
Totally absurd. Today at Goodison, it took three minutes and 20 seconds to determine whether Calvert-Lewin was onside or off.

The fact that the judgement in the Liverpool game was so erroneous when it was obvious that Diaz was onside is completely odd.
Even if Everton supporters won’t have much compassion for the Reds, it isn’t good for anyone to watch instances like these occur when there is so much at stake and people spend a lot of money to attend the game.
Keys is correct to bring up the Goodison incident since it shouldn’t take more than three minutes to decide whether or not to award a goal.
There are currently way too many high-profile errors being made, and some of the officials’ game management is beyond ludicrous.
The Blues will have been happy to see Calvert-Lewin’s goal recognized, but after ultimately losing the game, it won’t bring them much solace.
