Mix Reaction as Liverpool City Region mayor to announces 777 talks to be held today over Everton takeover ‘concerns’

According to Steve Rotheram’s announcement, he will meet with 777 Partners to outline fan’s concerns and discuss the possible ownership of Everton
.

On September 26, the mayor of London City Region tweeted that he wanted to get answers to the questions he and many others had while emphasizing how “important to the region the club is.

The following day, Rotheram announced in the Liverpool Echo that he would be pursuing talks with the American company. It appears that he was successful in doing so.

Everton FC is far more than a football team, far more than figures on a spreadsheet, and far more significant to the area than sporting rivalry,” Rotheram wrote.

Tomorrow, I’ll meet with 777 Partners to discuss the issues that fans have and to seek answers to the many questions that both I and many others have.

Getting serious

The buyout appears to be happening despite skepticism because Josh Wander and Don Dransfield visited the club last week to meet with Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell and are now scheduled to speak with Rotheram.

Although there are still several hurdles to pass after the agreement between 777 and Farhad Moshiri, it is apparent that many of the key players are now showing a great interest.

It is only appropriate that the club be safeguarded by whatever authorities that can because it has been indicated frequently recently that its future is in jeopardy.

Even though the current owner would undoubtedly refer to the stadium development and the estimated £750 million he has put into the club in response, some supporters would argue that Moshiri’s rule poses the greater threat to the club’s long-term existence rather than a new one.

It appears that the only option to find any stability is to make a change at the top as quickly as possible, given the latest concerns revealed about his money and relationship with Alisher Usmanov.

The 777 takeover has been delayed until authorities complete their procedures, but in the interim Wander and company certainly appear to be putting themselves out there, which is probably a good sign.
