This will be my “best shot”: Underdog status is “relished” by Sean Dyche, and Everton will make a…

According to a report by BBC Sport on October 20, the analyst stated that Everton’s strategy will work at Anfield and that their recent confidence boost may give them a chance.

On Saturday (October 21), Everton makes the short trip to Anfield in an attempt to win their third away derby since 1999.

Everton

Regarding Saturday, Brown stated: “They’re used to going to Anfield where nobody is expecting them to win, and Dyche loves leading the underdogs.” He’ll prepare them, wait, and sit outside of control. It will work for them.

“They go there with much more confidence and aren’t looking over their shoulder like they were doing after the outcome against Bournemouth.” They’ll give Liverpool their best effort.

Delighted

Though he obviously has some doubts about the Toffees’ chances in the match, Brown has given Everton a better chance than most other commentators.

Everton will attempt to counterattack Jurgen Klopp’s team as they have done so well this season, but when facing Liverpool’s formidable defense and possession-obsessed midfield, they will find it difficult to generate as many opportunities as they have against teams like Bournemouth and Sheffield United.

Despite their inconsistent play, the Toffees arrive at Anfield fresh off a significant victory against Bournemouth. Even though this match seems like it was played ages ago due to the international break, James Garner, Jack Harrison, and Abdoulaye Doucoure all scored goals in the 3-0 victory two weeks ago.

If Dyche is to have any success against Liverpool, who have only dropped one game this season in a contentious manner against Tottenham, then he will need to have that kind of confidence.

Few travelling Toffees fans will be sitting in the Anfield away end with much hope of a win, but Dyche thrives in these scenarios and an upset is no impossibility.
