LATEST NEWS: FORMER EVERTON MANAGERS PAY HOMAGE TO LATE CHAIRMAN

While still shaken by the news, the memories are flowing back. You were a leader, a friend, a curator, an inspiration, and most importantly, a contagious energy that embodied everything that was Everton. I would adore it if everyone knew how much you cared for the club and how committed you were to it. Your legacy will live on forever and will affect generations to come. My sincere condolences go out to the Evertonian family as well as Bill Kenwright’s loved ones and friends. Rest in blue heaven, Chairman.

David Moyes

When I was a young manager in the lower leagues, he gave me a big opportunity in my career. He was a wonderful man, brilliantly supportive. I couldn’t have had a better chairman as a young coach. Bill Kenwright was a pleasure to work with, but it bothers me how hard it is for any young manager to succeed in today’s football world. Over the course of our eleven years together, we had many wonderful times as well as some prosperous times. He’ll be sadly missed.

Frank Lampard

Bill. A man with an enormous heart and a huge personality. He was a devoted Everton supporter who was always willing to lend a hand, share his wisdom, and be kind to those in need. Listening to the many stories from your incredible career was such a privilege. It was my pleasure to call you a friend. My thoughts are with Jenny and his family at this very sad time. Thanks, Chairman
