Well, at the moment, no, Howard responded. It has to do with the objective’s clinical nature or lack of awareness. He positions himself to benefit.
To see him with Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be amazing. He is adept at turning it on while in the air. Calvert-Lewin is more methodical and a good runner. Can they collaborate to play? We shall see.
Brutal
In the 63rd minute of Everton’s Premier League match against Brentford, Beto must have been contemplating where his goals would come from as he went off the field.
Toffees fans would have to wait to witness the duo up front as Beto was replaced by Calvert-Lewin, so Howard did not get his wish. Sean Dyche may soon choose Beto as his backup after the Englishman scored the Toffees’ third goal against the Bees after coming off the bench.
Many people have questioned whether the pair might work well together, and Dyche has talked about it. I’ve always preferred to play with two attackers when it’s possible, but it has to work for the rest of the squad as well, he stated, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, It’s still early for that combination to find its feet.
The big man/little man combination has been a recipe for success in the past, but Dyche may opt for a big man/big man partnership up top to help fire the Toffees up the table.
It’s clearly an option that could be on the cards at some point given Dyche’s utilisation of two strikers at Burnley. If Beto continues to struggle alone up top, perhaps this would offer him a way for the multi-million-pound man to remain in the starting XI.
However, as Howard makes brutally clear, more is needed from Beto, who will be very eager to prove his doubters wrong.
