Following his unsuccessful sale to Everton, Wilfried Gnonto, a star for Leeds United, has revealed his asking price to his agent.
When his move to Everton was thwarted only hours before the final bell last summer, it was evident that he was determined to leave Leeds. He has now instructed his representatives to locate him in a new location, with the Italian championship as a top priority.
Lazio is a huge Gnonto fan. Over the previous few days, sporting director Fabiani and the boy’s representative met.
Leeds’s request for £25 million (£21.8 million) is deemed excessive; however, the parties will provide another report in the coming days to determine whether a discount can be negotiated.
Here we go
We couldn’t have pursued Gnonto so intensely during the summer and then given up on him, especially in light of the fact that we didn’t sign anyone else.
The team pursued Gnonto until the very last minute, considering the Italian to be a top target throughout the majority of the transfer window, despite having signed Beto, Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti, and Jack Harrison on loan in attacking positions during the summer.
However, we didn’t focus on finding someone else when it didn’t work out, so we stuck with our squad, so there may still be room for him.
Although we supposedly had bids worth up to £25 million rejected, therefore £21.8 million would be a reduction from the summer, Gnonto has lost his place in the Elland Road club, with Crysencio Summerville taking his place.
That might lead to an escape, and if that’s the case, Everton will probably be at the forefront when the window opens.
