Before halftime of Brentford’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on Saturday [16 September], the 26-year-old sustained a knee injury.
On Tuesday19 September, Brentford announced on their official website that Henry will face “a prolonged period of recovery” after surgery. Fabrizio Romano tweeted about the “bad news” at the time.
While this is upsetting, Rico has had a similar experience before and is already focused on using this as a chance to get stronger and fitter than before, according to head of medical Neil Grieg.
We shall be by his side every step of the way.
Speedy recovery
Henry has been a member of the Brentford team since August of 2021, and Thomas Frank values him highly as seen by the fact that he has only missed five Premier League games throughout that time.
This is unquestionably a big setback for the Bees both for the balance of their season and the Toffees’ trip to West London on Saturday, September 23.
At St James’ Park, Mads Roerslev was substituted in for Henry; it’s possible that he’ll play full-back the following weekend, making that position one to watch.
Even while Everton may view this as a positive development, that is a somewhat narcissistic perspective to take.
Henry has previously experienced a number of injury issues in the past, so this is a terrible blow when his career had just about recovered.
He will hopefully return to the field sooner rather than later in the season.
