Everton takeover news: Several parties ready to step in if 777 Partners deal falls through – Paul Brown

According to journalist Paul Brown, several parties are still interested in buying Everton if the projected 777 Partners deal falls through.

According to The Telegraph on Wednesday (25 October), the Premier League has suggested that Everton be punished 12 points if found guilty of breaking financial rules, which would immediately result in relegation and major financial issues.

Former Daily Star reporter Brown, on the other hand, tweeted on Thursday (26 October) that the threat of administration would not deter interested buyers. Several parties are still interested in buying the club if the 777 takeover fails, and some of them expect it to. If the club went into administration, interest would remain high. Most parties thought Moshiri’s asking price was excessive.

He mentioned some Everton news. Several parties are still interested in buying the club if the 777 takeover fails, and some of them expect it to.

Clearly, things might change if Everton receives a 12-point punishment (which many believe is doubtful), is relegated, and is successfully sued by rivals (which many also believe is unlikely). However, the situation does not appear to be ‘777 or bust’ at the moment.

The good news

This is at least a good development after a string of tragic news in recent days, including the death of chairman Bill Kenwright.

For a time now, it appears like all of Everton’s eggs are in one basket in terms of 777 Partners, with that takeover process currently going through numerous checks.

Given the number of issues raised about the American investment fund’s financial history, the purchase is still quite likely to fall through in the next weeks.

With Farhad Moshiri at the helm, this, combined with the threat of a hefty points loss, has supporters dreading the worse.

But it should be recalled that Everton is still a famous name, and there are others who appear to be ready to jump in if the 777 takeover fails.

Who that is remains to be seen, but if this update is any indication, the 777 agreement is not the be-all and end-all.
