EVERTON NOW WANT £23M STRIKER AS LIVERPOOL MOVES ‘COLLAPSED’

Everton are now turning to Leicester City in their hunt for a new striker with Patson Daka now wanted at Goodison Park.

Patson Daka is now wanted by Everton as Sean Dyche eyes up a raid on Leicester City.

That is according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, who claims that Dyche believes Daka’s speed is ideal for Everton.

The Toffees hope that Leicester will now decide to sell Daka after suffering relegation to the Championship.

Daka has blown hot and cold since joining from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago and Everton are willing to offer an escape route.

Daka was on the bench for Leicester City against Coventry City on Sunday but didn’t make an appearance.

Sky Sports back up Nixon’s claims, reporting that Everton are showing an interest in signing Data this summer.

The Foxes invested £23million in Daka back in 2021 after 68 goals in 125 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg.

The Zambian hasn’t managed to replicate that form for Leicester though, scoring just 15 times in 74 games.

Patson Daka could finally head to Merseyside with Everton

Daka was a wanted man at Red Bull Salzburg, emerging as their top striker following the departure of Erling Haaland.

Leicester’s deal to sign Daka seemed like a real coup because Liverpool were seemingly keen to land the striker.

The Reds regularly sign former Red Bull players and Daka appeared to be a prime target for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Fabrizio Romano then reported that Liverpool wanted to sign Daka in the summer of 2021, just weeks before his move to Leicester.

However, Romano reported that the deal ‘collapsed’ because Liverpool couldn’t sell Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi early in June.

That meant there was no room for Daka and Liverpool missed out, seeing the Zambian join Leicester instead.

The 24-year-old has shown glimpses of his quality but hanse’t really lived up to his billing just yet.

Everton could now finally bring him to Merseyside in the hope of getting the best out of the speedy striker.
