Everton are closing in on the signing of Leeds United midfielder Jack Harrison

Everton are closing in on the signing of Leeds United midfielder Jack Harrison and remain interested in his teammate Willy Gnonto, according to Tom White.  Report on 13 August that the Toffees are in “advanced discussions” over a deal for Harrison and that the 26-year-old is currently undertaking a medical on Merseyside.

He said that while the Blues are trying to sign Harrison, they are also still interested in signing Gnonto, with the 19-year-old Italian looking to seal a move away from Elland Road this summer.

Interesting

This is an interesting development to hear that Everton are still interested in a move for Gnonto even though they are closing in on a deal for Harrison.

The latter is currently sidelined with a hip injury, but White revealed that the midfielder is expected to be available in about three weeks’ time.

The Atheltic journalist David Ornstein revealed on 13 August that the move for Harrison will be an initial season-long loan deal, with the Toffees hoping to make the switch permanent in due course.

Sean Dyche would be delighted to also get a deal over the line for Gnonto after the Whites pair have been two of the club’s top targets during this summer transfer window.

The Liverpool Echo reported on 17 July that a bid in the region of £15million from the Blues had been rejected by Leeds, with the Yorkshire club looking for closer to £20million to let him go.

In other Everton news, a journalist has shared why Sean Dyche didn’t sign Ross Barkley.
