According to Alex Iwobi, he left Everton “on good terms.”

Alex Iwobi, a member of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, stated that he left the football club Everton “on good terms” despite the back and forth during the discussions for his contract extension.
Recall that Everton unsuccessfully attempted to extend Alex Iwobi’s contract on the final day of the transfer window last summer before he left for  Fulham .The versatile Nigerian player had just one season remaining on his contract when he could have left Everton for free the following summer if he hadn’t signed with Fulham for a transfer price that might exceed £22 million. Alex Iwobi who joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019 was one of the club’s most important players in their last two seasons in which they struggled from start to finish.

He was honored as the Everton Players’ Player of the Year at the conclusion of the previous campaign for saving the team from relegation in back-to-back Premier League campaigns.

Therefore, even though he only had one season left on his contract, the Nigerian international was not anticipated to depart the team at least this season.

Iwobi declined to elaborate in an interview with The Athletic on what happened between him and Everton before he made the decision to join Fulham on transfer deadline day. But he emphasized how much he had loved his more than four years at the Myserside club.

“Choosing to leave wasn’t an easy decision. My stay there was enjoyable, especially the latter several years. They seemed to warm up to me, Alex Iwobi stated.
