Everton midfielder James Garner says they’re now coming together after victory at Crystal Palace.

Garner has been impressive in Everton’s recent revival under manager Sean Dyche.

He said, “The manager speaks all the time about having that winning mentality, which you can’t have if you’re losing. We were under pressure for the majority of the game but it was all controlled. As a team, we knew what we were doing. The subs that came on knew their job and we got the game over the line.

“I’ve said a number of times we were quite unfortunate not to come away with points. I don’t want to say it’s luck but if it is, let us say we’re earning that luck at the moment. We’re playing well and looking like a real team.”

He added, “There was a lot of talk last season, especially from the manager, who was saying we needed to change the losing streak we were on [away from Goodison Park].

“We’ve changed that and long may it continue.”
