Reason Dimitar Berbatov Underestimate Everton…

After winning five of their last seven games, Everton will be full of confidence as they attempt to duplicate May’s spectacular 5-1 thumping of the Seagulls tomorrow.

The Toffees appeared to have turned things around after a disastrous start to the Premier League season; they are currently five points above the relegation zone and just three points outside of the top half.

Meanwhile, Brighton’s focus seems to have shifted away from the top flight as they look to enjoy success in the Europa League. Roberto De Zerbi’s side sits third in their group after their recent win over Ajax; however, they haven’t come out on top in any of their last four league games.

Everton will know this is a brilliant time to be facing Brighton as they approach another Europa League clash next week; however, Berbatov still thinks the Seagulls can bag their first win since September at Goodison Park.

Predicting a 3-1 win for the visitors, Berbatov said: Everton got a much-needed win against West Ham last week, giving themselves some space between the bottom three.

Brighton—well, if I could play for any team right now, it would be them! They aren’t quite where I want them to be at the moment, but I back them to beat Everton away from home.

Is Dimitar Berbatov underestimating Everton?

While Brighton is undoubtedly a highly entertaining squad to play against right now, Dimitar Berbatov appears to be overlooking just how strong Everton’s defense has been.

Since Michael Keane was replaced, Jarrad Branthwaite has excelled for the squad, and they have only let up two goals in their past four games—both of which were against Liverpool.

The Toffees should be disappointed if they don’t at least pick up a point this weekend, even though the Seagulls are a talented squad and it won’t be easy.
