After 15 games and a 10-point punishment, Everton is currently ranked 17th in the Premier League standings. Only Arsenal (15) and Liverpool (14) have collected more points (13) in the six games that the Goodison Park residents have won.

 

Young praised Everton’s unity in defeating Newcastle, who had triumphed in three of their previous four games.

After the game, though, the 38-year-old also took some time to thank the Blues’ supporters. Young was obviously feeling the effects of a fervent Goodison Park on Thursday.

Sean Dyche explains James Garner’s absence for Everton

Prior to their match against Newcastle, Everton manager Garrey Dyche disclosed that midfielder James Garner was sick and would not play.

This Thursday, the 22-year-old was unexpectedly left off the Toffees roster. He had started the previous nine Premier League games for the Merseysiders.
Garner has also played in all 14 of Everton’s league debuts this season, contributing one assist and one goal. The last time he was on Dyche’s bench was in September, when the Toffees lost 1-0 to Arsenal. The Everton coach had also been pleased by Garner, but he was unavailable.
