Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea have been linked with Everton midfielder Amadou Onana in the summer transfer window.
According to The London Evening Standard, Chelsea are keen on Everton midfielder Amadou Onana if they are unable to bring in their main targets.
Chelsea are trying to sign Ecuador international midfielder Moises Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are also looking at bringing in Romeo Lavia from Southampton.
The report has added that if Chelsea are unable to get their main midfield targets, then they have the £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) Onana as the alternative.
Chelsea could be able to sign Amadou Onana from Everton
In our opinion, Chelsea would not find it hard to sign Amadou Onana from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.
It is unlikely that Everton will want a lot of money for Onana.
While Brighton and Hove Albion are looking for £100 million for Caicedo, Onana is unlikely to cost even half that.
The Toffees are a big and established club in the Premier League, but Chelsea are bigger.
A move to Chelsea from Everton would be a step-up for Onana.
The player himself could fancy a transfer to the Blues and help the London club challenge for the Premier League top four this season and the title in the coming years.
Onana has made 34 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 21-year-old Belgium international defensive midfielder has scored one goal and given two assists in those games.
