The Stars tweeted their victory after the game. All is well thus far, right? Yes, it would be. However, the tweet only went so far as to be considered tasteful.
The tweet can be viewed here, but be aware that it has a sensitive image warning. To all others, it’s a photo of what looks like a lifeless fox in the middle of the street. A pickup truck is parked in front of the fox, crossing both lanes unnecessarily. “Road killed,” is written in the caption.
The Stars, or at the very least the team’s social media managers, came under fire for both the tweet and the decision to flag it as sensitive content rather than just removing it.
The two teams’ Twitter accounts engaged in a heated exchange of responses. “Maybe we won the game, but we took the ‘L’ this time,” the Coyotes retorted.
“At least we don’t get used to L’s,” Dallas retorted.
