Breaking News: QB Dak Prescott Goodbye Message to Dallas

It seems like everyone is suddenly salivating over the prospect of trading quarterback Dak Prescott to the Las Vegas Raiders.

However, its source tells you everything you need to know about its veracity.

So let me dispel any misunderstandings that may exist in Cowboys Nation and the national media.

It is accurate and worrisome that Prescott will have no contract beyond this season when he reaches 2024.

However, New York NFL talk-show host Craig Carton is attempting to put out a fire under it by talking about “an unverifiable rumor” that Prescott will be traded to the Raiders.

Be wary of that when it’s really something.

“The FS1 shock jock said, ‘There’s smoke in the air out of Dallas. On Dallas sports talk radio, there are some whispers that Dak Prescott is likely to be traded.

To be fair, the plot is unverified, but there are rumors that the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders had discussions in which the Raiders offered to move Dak Prescott, whose contract was about to expire, to Dallas in exchange for four choices and possibly Gardner Minshew.”

Does this have any merit? Carton is mistaken, as usual.

An article from USA Today made predictions about what Dallas might acquire in a fantasy trade. And that’s it.

This idea is covered in “What Could Dallas Actually Get for Dak?

It’s not a “Dallas sports-radio rumor,” though we can understand how a show host could have brought up the USA Today article to advance a particular topic.

At The Star, is there smoke in the air? I am actually sitting in the shadow of team headquarters as I write this. There’s not even smoke.

The idea that the Cowboys could be better off moving Dak now rather than losing him as a free agent in March 2025 is one that is widely and understandably speculated.

However, there is a distinction between smoke and speculation. The Cowboys are clearly undecided about Prescott’s long-term suitability in Dallas, which explains why they are hesitating in this situation.

However, there’s no indication that trade conversations with the Raiders or anybody else have deteriorated into a relationship.

Thus, it isn’t smoke. It’s more of a hypothetical ooze.
