MICHAEL OLISE OF CRYSTAL PALACE NEARING €40M CHELSEA MOVE AFTER AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE REACHED

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise (21) is nearing a move to Chelsea after both London-based clubs have found an agreement in principle, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Sports Zone revealed on Monday that the France U21 international had agreed personal terms with the Blues. Olise was also being considered by Manchester City as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez, but he favoured a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

RMC Sport understands that Crystal Palace and Chelsea will shake hands on a transfer fee close to the player’s release clause, which falls just below the €40m mark. The Eagles had previously rejected an initial €30m bid from Chelsea. The 21-year-old is expected to put pen to paper over a long-term contract, which is a habit for Chelsea since Todd Boehly’s takeover last year. Olise is currently injured and is expected to remain sidelined for weeks after suffering a muscular injury during the U21 European Championships.
