Because Mauricio Pochettino genuinely likes him, Chelsea may move for a Premier League “superstar,” according to a journalist.

Chelsea may make a summer move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to journalist Alex Crook.

He told TalkSPORT that the Blues may be enticed by new boss Mauricio Pochettino’s interest in his talents.

Martinez has had a big two years or so, having spent the rest of his career as a substitute or playing for lower league clubs.

But since then, he has developed into one of the league’s top keepers and has added the World Cup to his list of accomplishments while playing for Argentina.

He and Enzo Fernandez, the competition’s winners and young player and goalkeeper, respectively, were named.

Domestically, praise has been plentiful, with Tim Sherwood recently hailing him as a “superstar.”

Crook now claims that Chelsea will make a move for the goalie this summer.

“Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of Aston Villa and Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martnez, but it would be a costly deal for Chelsea — watch this space,” he stated.

Pochettino was said to be interested in working with Kepa Arrizabalaga after the club decided to sell Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabia.

This would probably not be a popular choice among the fan base, since many think that this summer’s key business is finding a new goalie.

Additionally, they have been connected to other opportunities abroad, with Mike Maignan and Andre Onana being the most prominent.

In fact, it has been asserted today that the Blues have spent the last two weeks internally debating the possibility of signing the AC Milan goalkeeper this summer.
