Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Chelsea have just been handed a boost in their attempts to sign Lyon star Bradley Barcola this summer.
It is not a big secret that Mauricio Pochettino is hoping for his side to add at least one more player to his ranks before the window shuts later this week.
He has made it clear in interviews and press conferences that he would like a new attacker, particularly a versatile one who can play along the front line.
It seemed they had honed in on Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. However, he has now signed a new contract at Selhurst Park.
Another player they have looked to bring in is Barcola. He has enjoyed a really promising start to his career in France.
Chelsea handed Barcola boost
With that being his home league, it perhaps makes sense as to why he is hoping a move to PSG comes to fruition.
However, Romano has claimed the deal is getting complicated between those clubs, potentially leaving the door open for Chelsea to pounce.
He said: “It’s true there is interest in a player like Barcola, also because at the moment the deal with PSG is getting complicated and it’s not easy between the two clubs.
“The player wants to go to PSG, but PSG and Lyon have no agreement on the fee and on the structure of the deal, so this is why it’s getting difficult for PSG.”
Whether a deal is struck for Barcola or not, it is certain that Chelsea fans are in for a hectic few days before the next league game against Nottingham Forest.
