Some of Celtic’s finest young players are presently being developed at their excellent training facilities.TMBR Celtic has previously reported that former Hoops player Scott Robertson advised the squad that Rocco Vata, a young player on the B team, may have a bright future with the organization.

Now, he’s also informing the team that they have another future star in Matthew Anderson.

“I played a couple of Celtic B games towards the end of last year, and Matty Anderson was excellent,” Robertson said [Daily Record print edition, page 43]. He is currently on loan at feeder club Admira Wacker in Austria.

He is a left-back who greatly impressed me and is very at ease with the ball. I would support him to continue after his return.

Who is Matthew Anderson, the young Celtic man?

He was hailed as “the real deal” when he signed his first professional contract with the team in 2019 at the tender age of sixteen. A Motherwell native, he enrolled in Celtic’s Youth Academy at the age of thirteen.

Anderson has made 25 appearances for the Celtic B team and has a very respectable four goals and four assists. In addition, he has played seven games for Celtic’s UEFA u19 squad.

Additionally, Anderson has received two Scotland U21 caps. But before being called up to the u19 squad, where he now has five caps and one goal, he had made three appearances for the u16 team.

Anderson has had a fantastic start to his loan period. He is currently on loan at Admira Wacker in Austria’s second tier. He has contributed three assists in six games, keeping his new team comfortably above the relegation zone. [Market Transfer]
