Burnley have raised their bid for Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey to £12 million.
The Premier League newcomers are negotiating a deal for the youngster, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City and Middlesbrough.
Ramsey, the brother of Villa star Jacob, might leave his boyhood club this summer as Burnley look to bring in a new recruit.Vincent Kompany’s team has also inquired about loaning out Manchester United left-back Alvaro Fernandez, 20, for the upcoming season.
It remains to be seen whether they can strike a deal to replace Ian Maatsen this summer.
After excelling on their tour of the United States, the former Chelsea loanee stated he wants to push for a position at Stamford Bridge this season.
However, with Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella still at the club, his playing time may be limited, despite the fact that Mauricio Pochettino has pushed him farther forward in pre-season.
Burnley and Ajax are also negotiating a £12.9 million deal for Denmark international winger Mohamed Daramy, 21.
They want to complete a deal for the forward in the coming days, ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
Burnley kicks begin the season on Friday against Manchester City, knowing they have a long season ahead of them.
