Breaking News: a cleveland player was arrested………

Alvin Bailey was taken into custody early on Monday morning on suspicion of driving while drunk.

Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Alvin Bailey was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to Allison Wood of the Royalton Post.

Bailey reportedly admitted to drinking prior to the arrest and was charged with “failure to comply, drug abuse, drug paraphernalia, speed and unsafe vehicle (cracked windshield).”

Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown provided a statement on the incident, per Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan:

“We’ll see what Alvin Bailey’s status is after arrest, it’s NFL matter, we’ll find out on Sunday if he’ll start at right guard,” Browns head coach Hue Jackson told reporters Wednesday.

The 25-year-old lineman is in his first year with the Browns after spending his first three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, appearing in 43 games and starting eight. He signed with Cleveland in March as a restricted free agent.

After appearing in reserve for the first two games of the season, Bailey earned his first start of the year in Week 3, with center Cameron Erving out with an injury. Cleveland came close to earning its first win of the season but ended up losing in overtime, 30-24, to the Miami Dolphins.

Rookies Shon Coleman and Spencer Drango could be asked to provide depth on the offensive line if Bailey misses time.
