Brighton have reportedly turned their attention to acquiring Albert Sambi Lokonga after talks with Lille’s Carlos Baleba stalled.
On Monday, Roberto De Zerbi’s team, who have had a near-perfect start to the new season, were close to seal a £25.6million move for the 19-year-old midfielder.
However, they have suddenly reversed their stance on the undesired Arsenal midfielder in order to reinvest the £150 million obtained from the departures of Alexis MacAllister and Moises Caicedo.
According to talkSPORT, the Seagulls are interested in bringing the 23-year-old Belgian to the Amex on loan at first.
Lokonga, who joined Arsenal in 2021 for £15 million, made just nine league games on loan at Crystal Palace last season and is not in Gunners manager Mikel Arteta’s plans.
