Buffalo Bills on $24 Million Deal: Two More WR to Join The Bills

For the second time in his NFL career, Curtis Samuel is currently on the move. The former wide receiver for Ohio State is moving up north to join the Buffalo Bills.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Samuel signed a $24 million, three-year contract with the Bills. The guaranteed amount under the arrangement is $15 million, with potential bonuses worth up to $30 million.

After an incredible career with the Buckeyes, Samuel was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, with pick No. 40 overall.

The Panthers were where Samuel played his first four seasons in the NFL, despite significant injury setbacks.

While in Carolina, he added 478 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 72 carries in addition to catching 185 passes for 2,087 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Samuel inked a three-year, $34.5 million contract with the Washington Commanders, formerly known as the Washington Football Team, after the 2020 campaign.

During his three seasons in the nation’s capital, Samuel caught 132 receptions for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns while playing alongside Terry McLaurin, another former Scarlet and Gray receiver. Aside from that, the adaptable Samuel ran for two more scores and 237 yards.

Samuel has accumulated 255 receptions for 2,770 yards and 18 touchdowns over his six-year NFL career. In addition, he has 114 carryouts for 676 yards and six more touchdowns.

In his penultimate season with the Panthers, Samuel participated in 15 games, five of which were starts, and had a career-best 77 receptions for 851 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to 41 rushes for 200 yards and two additional end zone trips.

Four-star prospect Samuel, who the 247Sports Composite ranks as the seventh-best athlete in the 2014 recruiting class, had three productive seasons at Ohio State.

As a freshman, Samuel caught 11 catches for 95 yards and ran the ball 58 times for 383 yards and six touchdowns while serving as Ezekiel Elliott’s backup running back.

In 2015, Samuel saw more action as an H-back, logging 17 carries for 132 yards and catching 22 receptions for 289 yards and three touchdowns overall.

In 2016, Samuel became a big playmaker for the Buckeyes as a junior. With 97 carries for 771 yards and eight running scores, along with 74 catches for 865 yards and seven receiving touchdowns, Samuel became the Scarlet and Gray’s go-to weapon. As the only player in Buckeye history to record 1,000 or more yards receiving and rushing, he left Ohio State.
