Current Campaign for Leicester City: Bayern Munich is actively seeking Ndidi as a potential new defensive midfielder in the Premier League.

Ndidi has had a strong start to the C scoring three goals and providing one assist in eight games across all competitions.

Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, is still a target for Bayern Munich, according to a recent report, who rank the 26-year-old as one of their top objectives for a new defensive midfielder ahead of the winter 2024 transfer window.

On the final day of the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich came very close to signing Palhniha from Fulham, but the deal fell through at the last minute after Fulham had earlier that day failed to reach an agreement with Manchester United for Scott Mctominay to take Palhniha’s place at the Craven Cottage.

The Bavarians suffered a further setback on Thursday when Palhninha abruptly extended his contract with Fulham to 2028 with the option of one more season.

If Bayern were to come back for him in the upcoming transfer window, Fulham would request a greater transfer fee in exchange for the extension.

There is still ample proof that Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel wants to add a new defensive midfielder to his team, but given that Palhinha recently signed a contract with Fulham, Wilfred Ndidi of Nigeria has reportedly been shortlisted as an alternative along with Ibrahim Sangare, Aurelien Tchouameni, Scott Mctominay, and Ibrahim Sangare.

Following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League at the end of the previous season, Ndidi was heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Ndidi is reportedly open to a transfer to the Bundesliga champions and would like to work with Tuchel, according to earlier reports.

Less than a year remain on the contract of the Nigerian midfielder, and it is unclear whether Leicester will try to sell him in the January 2024 transfer window or let him walk away as a free agent the following summer.

His strong start to the season suggests that he has so far not been discouraged by the ongoing rumors about his future. In eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, Ndidi has tallied three goals and one assist.
